What You Need to Get Started

This program is for people who are ready to take the next step.

You should come in with foundational training in a relevant field, along with the ability to commit to a consistent 20-hour per week schedule for 24 months. More importantly, you need the willingness to learn, apply feedback, and stay accountable to your goals.

Eligibility and Program Requirements

To be considered for the BIT Apprenticeship Program, career seekers must meet the following baseline criteria and commit to the program’s structure:

  • Foundational Knowledge: Must hold a Salesforce Administrator certification for the Salesforce Admin apprenticeship, or a CPACC certification for the Digital Accessibility Analyst apprenticeship.
  • Legal Work Status: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Be a BIT Career Seeker and submit proof of disability
  • Flexible Schedule: Ability to commit to a consistent schedule (20 hours per week) for the full two-year duration of the apprenticeship and the ability to accommodate hours based on project needs, apprentice availability, or employer organization schedules.
  • Remote Work Environment: Access to a reliable internet connection and any necessary accessibility software (e.g., JAWS, NVDA) you require.

A Better Way to Start Your Career

Starting a new career can feel like a frustrating loop; you need experience to get the job, but need a job to gain the experience. You put in the time to learn, but when it’s time to apply, most opportunities still expect experience you haven’t had the chance to gain yet.

BIT’s Apprenticeship Program is designed to change that.

Whether you’re starting out, transitioning fields, coming back from a gap, or continuing to pursue your current field, this program is for you. BIT’s Apprenticeship Program is a two year, paid opportunity where you step into real work, contribute to actual projects, and begin building the kind of experience employers are looking for.

What the Experience Feels Like

As an apprentice, you are part of a working team. You collaborate, solve problems, and contribute to deliverables that matter. Over time, your confidence grows because your skills are being used in real situations, not just learned in theory.

You won’t be left to figure things out alone. You’ll have support, feedback, mentorship, resources and structure. You’ll take ownership of your growth and build confidence through competency-based technical skill development goals and professional development opportunities. You’ll work directly under the mentorship and guidance of your supervisors alongside other apprentices to shape your skills and define your long-term career goals.

How You Grow

Progress in this program is based on what you can do, not just how long you’ve been here.

As you build and demonstrate skills, your responsibilities increase. You begin to take on more complex work, contribute more independently, and see clear evidence of your progress. Growth is visible, measurable, and directly connected to your effort.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll develop both technical and professional skills that prepare you for your next step. Just as importantly, you’ll gain clarity on your strengths and begin shaping a career path that aligns with your long-term goals.

By the end of the program, you will have more than knowledge. You will have experience you can speak to with confidence.

You’ll be able to point to real work you’ve done, problems you’ve solved, and skills you’ve developed in a professional environment. That’s what makes the difference when you’re pursuing your next opportunity.

This program is designed to help you move into long-term employment.

Some apprentices transition directly into roles with employer partners. Others use their experience to pursue opportunities elsewhere. Either way, you’re no longer trying to break in, you’ve already started. We’ll connect you with resources to support your career hunting and develop your networking strategies.

Build Skills. Gain Experience. Move Into a Career.

  • Clear progression based on demonstrated skills
  • Accessible, remote work environment
  • Flexible, 20 hour work weeks
  • Designed for long-term employment outcomes

Hosting an Apprentice is a strategic partnership with BIT to train, test, and develop talent through structured competency progression and resources at a reduced cost to you.

  • Vetted Talent: Access to highly motivated, certified professionals
  • Reduced risk in hiring: Apprentices demonstrate their skills and fit before full-time conversion

  • Partnership with a nationally recognized grant funded workforce development program

 A Smarter Approach to Hiring

Finding talent is one challenge. Finding talent that can actually do the work and stay long-term is another.

BIT’s Apprenticeship Program is designed to close that gap.

Instead of hiring based on potential alone, you gain access to individuals who are actively developing and demonstrating the skills needed to succeed before they ever transition into a full-time role. Whether you’re looking for Salesforce Administrators or Digital Accessibility Analysts, BIT has the solution for you.

Apprentices contribute to projects, support team objectives, and grow into their role over time with structured guidance and support from us and you, shaping talent in a way that aligns with your actual business needs.

Through grant support, employer partners host apprentices at a reduced cost compared to traditional new hire costs, allowing you to invest in talent development while lowering upfront hiring costs.

How the Model Works for You

BIT’s apprenticeship model is built to reduce risk and increase impact.

Apprentices progress based on demonstrated skills, which means you can see their capabilities develop in real time. As they grow, they take on more responsibility and contribute more independently, creating a natural transition into long-term employment if it’s the right fit.

The structure is already in place: mentorship, performance tracking, resource and support for the apprentice and you to support development. BIT is with you and the apprentices you’re hosting throughout their entire journey to ensure mutual benefit and success.

What You Gain

Traditional hiring often involves high upfront costs, long ramp times, and uncertainty around performance and retention. This approach changes the hiring equation.

You gain access to talent that is aligned to long-term growth, not short-term placement.

  • Employers have seen an average return of $1.44 for every $1 invested in apprenticeship programs (USDOL)
  • 94% of apprentices remain employed after completing a program Source: USDOL, Apprenticeship.gov “Explore Registered Apprenticeship” 2025 Factsheet
  • Apprenticeships significantly improve retention and reduce turnover compared to traditional hiring pathways USDOL, Apprenticeship.gov “Beyond Productivity: Employer Gains from Apprenticeship” (2022)
  • Research shows that 88% of businesses report improved employee loyalty when utilizing an apprenticeship model. USDOL, Apprenticeship.gov “Beyond Productivity: Employer Gains from Apprenticeship” (2022)

The result is stronger onboarding, faster ramp-up, and a higher likelihood of retention.

With BIT Employer Partnerships, you’re able to evaluate talent in a real work environment at a fraction of the typical cost before making long-term hiring decisions. You can host apprentices within your team, provide project-based work, and build a pathway to hire apprentices into full-time roles at completion.
